Financial services provider Old Mutual has come under fire from social media users. This comes after a woman alleged that Old Mutual was in contempt of court by withholding funds.
The lady who initially made the post was advised not to speak about it.
“Dear @OldMutualSA please advise why you are refusing to release my mother’s money even though a court order has been provided.
“You are in contempt of court, and I am about to lose my cool right now,” the tweet read.
The post went viral on social media, prompting other people to share their own experiences with the financial services provider.
Grammy-award-winning South African singer Zakes Bantwini alleged that his family only received R380 for his mother’s payout following her passing.
The Kaya 959 Breakfast team discussed this and extended an invitation to Old Mutual to speak on it. Listeners also shared their personal experiences with the financial services provider.
