The Gauteng High Court issued a writ of execution allowing the sheriff to attach goods belonging to the ANC and sell them in order to pay the R102 million owed to Ezulwini Investments.
In 2020 the ANC failed to prove to the High Court that it was not obliged to settle the R102 million owed to Ezulwini Investments – the agency created and installed thousands of electoral banners for the party in 2019.
The judge ruled that the evidence provided proved that Ezulweni entered into a “bona fide oral agreement” with the ANC.
This means that The sheriff can go and attach their assets to recover that money. Before they can attach immovable assets like Luthuli House, they need to first exhaust their movable assets.
