Renowned South African musician and actress Thembi Seete has the pleasure of hosting the first-ever SHEIN pop-up store launch in Mzansi.
The highly-anticipated launch took place at the Mall of Africa in Johannesburg.
“It was so much fun, and I got to meet some wonderful people. A big thank you to @Sheinza_ for inviting me to be a part of it.”
The pop-up store will allow customers to experience these products in person, bridging the gap between online convenience and the tactile experience of in-store shopping.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to try on clothing, feel the fabrics, and see the quality up close, which can enhance their shopping confidence and satisfaction.
The Shein pop-up store will be open on Friday, 2 August between 14h00 to 20h00 and from 09h00 to 21h00 from Saturday, 3 August, to Sunday, 11 August.
South African online shoppers were hit with bad news as tax hikes on Temu and Shein will be kicked in on 01 July.
The Chinese fast fashion shopping websites, which have grown in popularity in the country, will now be charging standard import taxes after local retailers accused Temu and Shein of exploiting a tax loophole.
This means that South Africans will be hit with a 45% import duty plus VAT.
