The dog, now affectionately named Bobby, has been successfully rescued by the NSPCA.

The disturbing clip drew immediate attention from concerned viewers who flooded the NSPCA with complaints, alleging animal abuse and highlighting the canine’s visible malnutrition.
These numerous reports allowed the organisation to locate both the woman and the suffering animal.
“Last week, a video went viral, but not for the right reasons. While a social media influencer danced for likes, an emaciated dog sat sadly in the background. That dog, affectionately named Bobby by hundreds of South Africans moved by her plight, is finally safe,” stated the NSPCA.

According to the NSPCA, Bobby was found to be “severely malnourished, suffering from fly strike, and covered in ticks and fleas.”
The NSPCA’s Special Projects Unit (SPU) acted quickly to track down the dog’s owner and the influencer.
NSPCA has stated that Bobby is now on a long road to recovery. Once healthy, she will be sterilised and made available for adoption into a loving and caring home.
