Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida is thrilled to announce the release of her new children’s book titled I am Shudu: Finding my Voice, Knowing my Strength.
The book explores themes of bullying, identity, bravery, forgiveness, displaced families, and the bond of friendships. Above all, it emphasizes the “power of community and the magic we find when we use our voices.”
Accompanying the book are stunning illustrations by the talented and award-winning duo, Chantelle and Burgen Thorne. Through this book, Shudu aims to “inspire and empower” children aged six to ten years old.
I am Shudu: Finding my Voice, Knowing my Strength is available for pre-order.
Speaking about the book recently, Shudufhadzo said that after years of bullying and silence, she spoke to millions about empowering the mind. In doing that, she realised that she was “healing the mind of her inner child and her mental health”, which had been severely impacted by the bullying.
“I wanted to cultivate conversations I wish someone had had with me when I was 10 years old as a reminder to children worldwide, especially those bullied and struggling with their mental health. I realized that finding my magic was the continued use of my voice to empower others and that it was a continuous journey that peeled back many layers,” said Shudufhadzo.
