On Monday was day 1 of Alert level 3. The country has eased some restriction and Kaya 959 listeners all celebrated the news in their own unique way.
No more ‘take it or leave it’ service.
Thomas and Skhumba in the morning checked-in with the listeners to see what has changed and how they are taking advantage on the new restrictions.

This morning there’s also been noticeable increase in traffic volumes. This was due to schools will re-open on Monday 26 July, with strict health protocols and other measures announced as per the the Minister of Basic Education.

Alcohol Ban lifted
Many South Africans have welcomed the lifting of the alcohol ban, and many shared how the first day felt like they were free at last. In adjusted level 3 alcohol sales for on-site consumption will be permitted as per licence conditions up to 8 pm.
