A 29-year old man said the decision to get a vasectomy was the best one he’s ever made. With no intention whatsoever to have children, “Jag” as he’d like to be called underwent the “nip and tuck” last Wednesday.
Shortly after the procedure, he took to his social media to share that he had finally done the irreversible vasectomy.
Since then, Jag has received severe backlash from people who have an opinion about his family planning decision.
This doesn’t phase him because he stands by his choice to have the procedure done for permanent contraception.
Speaking to Kaya 959, Jag said people can pick apart his choice all they want.
"I've never had a desire to have children and have a traditional family structure. The plans I have for my life do not include ever becoming a father!"
An attorney by profession, Jag is single and has been for the past 4-years.
He says that he has no imminent plans to get into a relationship but should that change he will disclose to his potential partner that he is infertile.
“If that’s a dealbreaker it’s cool, I am looking for a partner who has similar beliefs about marriage and kids.”

The procedure is a fairly quick one but it does hurt, a lot!
Describing the pain as similar to being “kicked in the nuts by a wild horse”, Jag said it was worth the peace of mind he now has.
Performed under local anaesthesia, a vasectomy requires two incisions, one on each side of the scrotum.
Thereafter, the tubes that release sperm from the testicles are snipped.
“You feel this. The incision to the scrotum you don’t because the area is numb but the tubes being cut, you feel. It hurts. I can’t say that it doesn’t. One of the reasons men don’t consider a vasectomy is because of the pain. They warn you about the pain but it doesn’t last” Jag recounts.
Recovery after a vasectomy requires the use of an icepack on the groin area for 3 days. After 10 days Jag will need to ejaculate up to 20 times and have his sperm samples tested by a lab.
Only when he produces no sperm in a sample will he be given the all clear that he is now infertile.
