The husband of murdered deputy prinicipal Thembisile Ngendane wants her killers brought to book.
On Friday, the 50-year old educator was killed in an execution-style shooting as she was leaving Phomolong Secondary School in Tembisa.
Her family believe reports that she was killed by disgruntled matriculants who were unhappy they had failed was a cover-up.
In an interview with News24, Thembisile’s husband, Wiseman Ngendane said there are so many unanswered questions around her death.
He felt his wife was targeted because the three gunmen fled the scene without taking anything from her.
According to her husband, Thembisile had been appointed deputy principal a few months ago and she had become a threat to her competitors at the school.
He believes the young men who carried out the hit on his wife were hired for the job but is of the opinion there are other masterminds involved.
Her husband is hoping to have more answers on Tuesday after the autopsy report.
Funeral arrangements for the mother of two have not been finalised yet. Police are yet to make an arrest.
Gauteng MEC for education, Panyaza Lesufi is expected to visit the school and family on Monday.
He expressed his sympathies with the family and was saddened by the circumstances surrounding Thembisile’s death.
