Hulisani Ravele has rubbished suggestions that she is a “vax influencer” who is being paid to talk about COVID-19.
The media personality revealed on Twitter that she was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.
“Last week I had a cold-like symptom and I tested immediately but it was negative. I’m positive today. One of the things I know for sure? The vaccine works. I can’t imagine what I would be like without it,” she wrote on Twitter.
While many users wished her a speedy recovery, a few Twitter users insinuated that it was a sponsored post.
“Is the vax influencer rate still R20k?” one tweep asked.
Hulisani clapped back at the tweep.
“MaShandu, I have never given any impression of being paid to talk about Covid and vaccines. If you must know, I’ve actually turned money down to do such. Don’t ridicule my experience because you don’t believe it.”

Losing money
The former Yo.TV presenter revealed that she is now actually losing money due to testing positive for COVID-19.
“If you must know, I actually lost money today because my positive result meant I cannot be on set and fulfill my duties. But hey, go on with your theory.”

Hulisani also gave her fans some clarity on why she had to get tested twice.
“I tested last week because I had flu-like symptoms and I was going to work so I wanted to be sure and to put my colleagues at ease too. Today I had to test before going on an event set, it was compulsory,” she tweeted on Monday.
