Treat yourself to a delicious dessert this weekend. This low-carb tart crust is the perfect base for just about every filling.
Maintaining a low-carb, sugar-free diet can be hard, especially when you’re faced with sweet treats.
People who follow a low-carb diet avoid tarts because the flour used in the pastry is not allowed.
However, fear not, we have a super easy tart shell recipe that’s low carb and guilt-free.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/2 cup of butter
3/4 cup coconut flour
3/4 cup almond flour
Method
Preheat your oven to 180. Cream together the butter and cream cheese until thoroughly mixed, then mix in both flours until a dough forms.
When done, press the dough out in your pie dish, in your desired shape. Note, the consistency of this dough is not the same as normal flour dough and there’s no need to roll this dough out.
Pop the prepared pastry into the oven for 15 minutes, or until light to a golden brown, and allow to cool before filling. Note that the pastry will shrink a bit after cooking.
Keep in mind this pastry shell burns quickly, so keep an eye on it. Also expect it to feel a bit soft when removed from the oven, once it’s cooled it will get harder. This recipe produces an average-sized round tart, if you’re making a large one or want a thicker crust, just double the ingredients.
You can fill your tart with a filling of your choice, including fruit and vanilla cream.
