This festive season, it’s going to be important to manage the expectations when it comes to gifts, celebrations and sho’tleft vacations. Whether it’s due to COVID-19 safety restrictions or financial restrictions, the holidays are going to look a whole lot different. On The Best T In The City, Tbose shared teaspoons on the importance of managing family expectations this festive season.
We Are Still Under Lockdown: While the country has gradually opened up, it does not mean we are free of COVID 19. So, it’s important for us to remind our loved ones that staying indoors is still the best option especially now more than ever as we all know people do the most in December. Therefore, travelling home and going out none stop is postponed until further notice.
We Need To Be Mindful Of Our Expenditure: Unfortunately, most people had to take salary cuts while many others got retrenched. So, this December will be focused on saving as much as we can meaning our children won’t get the usual family vacation and multiple gifts on Christmas. We still have 2021 to think about and if there is anything COVID 19 taught us, it’s to save as much as we can because a pandemic can happen at any time.
We Are All 2020 Fatigued: Though we are all happy to have made it to December, many of us are emotionally, mentally, and physically tired of the year 2020. At this point we just want the year to end with us and our loved ones in one piece because our energy bundles for 2020 have unfortunately depleted so lets just rest bafwethu we will try again next year.
