Veteran actor Fana Mokoena says the ANC has “mastered the art of playing its supporters”.
The former ‘Generations’ star has described the drama surrounding the ANC’s national executive committee (NEC) meeting as a “soapie”.
The ANC revealed on Sunday that its legal team is looking into the unauthorised sharing of recordings from its latest NEC meetings.
The NEC held discussions over several issues, including the recent suspension of Secretary-General Ace Magashule.
The secretary-general was kicked out of the meeting. He has vowed to fight his suspension.
A few days before the meeting, Magashule tried to suspend Cyril Ramaphosa as the party’s president.
Fana claims ‘ANC is plundering SA through corruption’
Fana, who is also a former EFF MP, says the ruling party is playing South Africans.
“The ANC has mastered the art of playing its supporters. Every now and then they go into that soapie they call #ANCNEC. You all get glued to your screens, they even leak useless clips to keep you interested. Then they come out and say nothing in a press conference. Then repeat.”

He says the ANC officials are only governing their own pockets.
“The ANC is busy with factional things in that so called NEC, but you’re busy calling them the GOVERNING party. The reason why they are not in there discussing education and the economy has is that the only thing they’re GOVERNING is their own pockets. It’s the story of Africa.”

Fana went on to say that the ANC is to blame for the current demise of South Africa.
“Good fellow Africans, you can shout and scream all you want. It will not remove the FACT that the ANC is responsible for the current demise of the country: unemployment, declining economy, non-transformation in education, business etc. The ANC is plundering SA through corruption.”
