South Africans should brace for further interruptions to power as Eskom implements Stage 4 loadshedding effective immediately.
The power utility announced this Wednesday that Stage 2 will then continue as previously communicated until Saturday.
“Some generating units have returned to service and we anticipate another two units to return to service during the day. In addition, Koeberg Unit 1 is expected to return to service today and begin ramping up to full output within 48 hours.” Eskom shared in a statement.
Due to further shortfalls in generation capacity, Eskom said Stage 4 is effective from 12h00 on Wednesday to 05h00 on Friday.
