Yes wena ghel! Ntokozo Mbambo gave her fans a glimpse of her success this year when she unboxed her SAMA awards.
Taking to her Instagram the triple SAMA winner said none of it would have been possible without God’s work in her life.
“ALL glory • ALL honour • ALL praise goes to Jesus Christ! The author and perfecter of my faith.
I’m still in awe of His work in my life.”
Ntokozo walked off with 3 of the biggest awards at the which included, Female Artist of the Year, Best Album of the Year and Contemporary Faith Album of the Year.
Ntokozo’s wins left a bitter taste in fellow gospel singer, Kelly Khumalo’s mouth, causing the Empini hitmaker to go off on a homophobic rant after losing out at the 29th SAMA Awards.
Kelly took several swipes at her rival and winner of Album of the Year, Ntokozo Mbambo, who she felt didn’t deserve to win the coveted title, feeling inclined that it should have been her instead.
In tweets that have since been deleted, Kelly was vocal about Ntokozo taking home 3 SAMAS saying, “She knows she doesn’t deserve it. Numbers don’t lie, even Ntokozo knows that numbers don’t lie!
We are not scared of her. Fuseg SAMAS.”Kelly Khumalo went off on a rant after losing out at the SAMAS
Ignoring Kelly’s rant, Ntokozo said she had no expectations of winning, even though she’s always singing about having faith.
“I was actually at peace with everything, I had no expectations which is very weird because we’re always teaching people to have faith, being people who sing about faith. But I was just very chilled and at peace, expecting nothing.
But, you know how God just works in mysterious ways, even in moments when scripture says he is faithful when you are faithless, and that is exactly what happened this weekend.”
Ntokozo Mbambo will be one of the headliners at this year’s Soul Inspired Concert. Check out her interview on Kaya 959 below.
