Kelly Khumalo stuck her foot in her mouth by going on a homophobic rant after losing out at the 29th SAMA Awards over the weekend.
The gospel singer took several swipes at her rival and winner of Album of the Year, Ntokozo Mbambo.
Kelly was of the belief that Ntokozo didn’t deserve to win the coveted title, and felt it should have been her instead, making a petty comment that the awards were rigged.
In tweets that have since been deleted, Kelly was vocal about Ntokozo taking home 3 SAMAS saying, “She knows she doesn’t deserve it. Numbers don’t lie, even Ntokozo knows that numbers don’t lie!
We are not scared of her. Fuseg SAMAS.”

The Empini hitmaker repeated that Ntokozo’s awards were rigged, and when called out for being jealous of the fellow gospel singer, Kelly went off at a social media user in a homophobic rant.
“Sit down Aunty. The day you decide whether you’re a man or a woman then we can talk!”
Kelly has since apologised for the remarks but social media users lambasted her for being a sore loser, and not having the grace to congratulate her competitor.
Ngonile with my homophobic remarks ngiyaxolisa that was uncalled for.

Ntokozo walked off with 3 of the biggest awards which included, Female Artist of the Year, Best Album of the Year and Contemporary Faith Album of the Year.
Speaking about her accolades, Ntokozo said she had no expectations of winning, even though she’s always singing about having faith.
“I was actually at peace with everything, I had no expectations which is very weird because we’re always teaching people to have faith, being people who sing about faith. But I was just very chilled and at peace, expecting nothing.
But, you know how God just works in mysterious ways, even in moments when scripture says he is faithful when you are faithless, and that is exactly what happened this weekend.”
