A clip of Duduzane Zuma driving a taxi for the day has received mixed reactions, with some saying they wouldn’t mind being driven around by the businessman turned politician.
Others were quick to point out that Duduzane’s track record with taxi’s isn’t all fun and games. The son of former President Jacob Zuma, crashed his Porsche 911 Turbo into a taxi in 2014.
The crash claimed the life of one of the passengers of the taxi, Phumzile Dube and left several others injured.
Duduzane reportedly lost control of his sports car after hitting a pothole which caused him to aquaplane into the taxi.
He was found not guilty of culpable homicide charges after the state failed to prove its case of reckless and negligent driving on Duduzane’s part.
It’s also not the first time the young Zuma showed of his taxi driving skills, as he celebrated his role as ANC branch chairperson of Ward 11 in eThekwini, last year, pulling up in a yellow taxi playing amapiano.
This time, Duduzane was driving a taxi around in Mamelodi, charging passengers regular fees.
When asked if they really had to pay, Duduzane responded with a very clear, “Yebo!”
The ladies in the taxi were tickled pink at his attempt to speak Setswana and Xitsonga, as Duduzane had previously shared on Kaya Drive that he doesn’t speak vernac.
