Tyla Laura Seethal, better known simply as Tyla, has earned a well-deserved spot on New African magazine’s prestigious annual list of the “100 Most Influential Africans of 2023,” a ground-breaking recognition of South African talent and global impact.
Tyla’s inclusion in the list of the 100 Most Influential Africans of 2023 published by New African magazine is a celebration of her contributions to cultural discourse and her influence on the international music scene.

She recently celebrated her hit song “Water” which became the fastest song by A South African artist in history to reach 10 Million streams globally on Spotify (34 days).
Tyla is a testament to her extraordinary talent and the appeal of her music worldwide. She is the first South African to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 since Hugh Masekela’s historic feat with “Grazing in the Dark” more than five decades ago.
