In September this year, Trevor Noah shocked the globe after announcing his decision to step down as host of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
Noah joined The Daily Show seven years ago, taking over from the legendary John Steward, who was the host of the show for 16 years.
“I realised that after seven years my time is up and in the most beautiful way. Honestly, I loved hosting this show. It’s been one of my greatest challenges, it’s been one of my greatest joys.”
Speaking about his decision to leave The Daily Show in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Noah says he believes that everything should end.
“Maybe this comes with not being raised in America, but I believe that everything should end.
“A lot of American business and American media is just like, ‘Keep it going as long as possible,’ but I think it’s healthy for things to end when they’re still in a good place.
“I want to leave before I’m burnt out because there are many other things I’d like to do.”He told the publication.
Trevor Noah’s new Netflix special I Wish Your Would premiered on the streaming platform today.
