Award-winning South African actor Thembinkosi Mthembu has recently added a new Mazda CX-60 to his car collection. The actor, best known for his portrayal of King Dingiswayo in “Shaka iLembe,” shared his excitement about the new vehicle on social media.
“I cannot wait to find wonder in simple everyday journeys. This car drives like a dream – I love the panoramic sunroof, the Nappa leather seats, and the 12-speaker Bose Sound System,” Mthembu enthused.
Thembinkosi’s recent SAFTA win for his performance as King Dingiswayo further solidified his position as one of South Africa’s most talented actors. He expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “I’m truly happy. When you love your work, you keep pushing every year. Even when I wasn’t getting nominated, I told myself to keep working hard—not just for awards, but to improve in my craft.”
The actor also acknowledged the contributions of his colleagues and family. “I want to thank everyone I’ve worked with, and to my loved ones for their support—from the executives to my family, especially my mum and my wife. Special thanks to Kabelo [Chalatsane Mokoena], the stunt coordinator at Shaka iLembe, and his team, who helped me build Dingiswayo from the ground up. I also want to acknowledge my colleague Mondli Makhoba [Ngomane in Shaka iLembe].”
