Thando Thabethe has responded to reports she’s being sued for unpaid liposuction bills at Vivari Aesthetics.
On Sunday, 20 August, Sunday World reported that the actress and radio presenter, as well as her friend Tumi Maimela, were being sued for R5 million, after the pair failed to settle their plastic surgery bills
According to the report, Thando underwent liposuction to the value of R180 000, while Tumi received liposuction, mastopexy, and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), worth over R340 000.
In exchange, Tumi, who runs the company behind Thando’s reality show, and Thando allegedly agreed to give Vivari airtime on the show.
However, Vivari Aesthetics owner, Dr Anushka Reddy claims that Thando and Tumi did not give Vivari any airtime, nor were the bills for their procedures settled.
Tumi reportedly wrote to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPSCA), claiming that the procedures that both she and Thando received, “almost killed” them.
As reported, Tumi claims she checked into Life Fourways hospital for further treatment caused by excessive bleeding from her plastic surgeries.
Vivari Aesthethics is now reportedly seeking R5 million in damages from both women.
Responding to the allegations that she’s being sued for her unpaid liposuction bill, Thando told The Citizen that her legal team is looking into the dispute.
Vivari Aesthetics hasn’t responded to the report.
