In a family already celebrated for its remarkable talent, South African music star Sho Madjozi has another reason to be proud.
Her younger sister, Zora Wegerif, has been selected to represent the country at the Virtus World Swimming Championships in Thailand.
Sho Madjozi, the multi-award-winning artist known for her lively Xitsonga lyrics and vibrant style, took to social media to share the incredible news.
“My little sister swims for the South African national team,” she announced, gushing with pride.

According to the Sho Madjozi, Zora is a formidable swimmer, currently ranked as the number one female swimmer with Down Syndrome in Gauteng and second in all of South Africa.
The proud sister urged fans to show support for Zora on an Instagram post shared by her swim club, Dragons. The call to action was met with an immediate and overwhelming wave of love and encouragement from the nation.
Zora’s achievements extend beyond the swimming pool. She is a dedicated and versatile athlete who has not let Down Syndrome hinder her pursuit of greatness. In 2017, she and her father made history by becoming the first people with Down Syndrome to complete the 94.7 cycle race on a tandem bike.
She also competes in a range of regional athletic events, including sprints, long jump, and shot put.
