Saint Lounge Cape Town is making headlines yet again, this time for advertising 3 nights with Akon.
Not only is there still a R1 million minimum spend on a table but there’s a hefty entrance fee as well.
However, despite the upmarket establishment’s social media marketing around Akon’s performance and 3 nights special, patrons flooded the Saint Lounge Instagram to call them scammers.
Saint Lounge claims Akon would be performing with a number of other artists and DJs from 03-05 January.
But several social media users said this was a lie as the Senegalese-American artist was not at Saint Lounge last night.
“He was not at Saint last night, so are you scamming us?”
“Does Akon know he’s going to Saint tonight?”
“Your market gimmicks on steroid I salute una”
With entrance to attend the 3 nights with Akon set at a steep R1000, social media users are not having what they call Saint Lounge’s lies.
Some said that the lounge would just get a knock off lookalike who will lip sync and charge R1 million for Table 1.
To make matters even more suspicious, neither Akon nor Saint Lounge shared any images or videos of Tuesday night’s performance.
Akon’s last travel post was to share that he was in Mumbai, India three days ago.
