Lebogang Mashile, a poet and activist, now has a street named after her.
Mashile is a poet, author, presenter, actress, and producer who has won numerous awards. She is a well-known South African poet who has enthralled audiences in 28 countries over the last two decades with her beautiful and courageous poems.
She acted in the Academy-award nominated Hotel Rwanda.

She announced the good news by retweeting a screenshot and stating that the street was located in Randfontein and that she was excited to see it.
“My peeps out there in Randfontein. I still need to see this up close with my own eyes. Thank you for sharing,” she wrote.
