R. Kelly shocks fans with a release of a “new” album ‘I Admit It’ from prison.
R. Kelly has reportedly released a ‘new’ album from behind bars in which the singer appears to acknowledge a number of prior accusations made against him.
‘I Admit It’, a new 13-track album, was made available on Friday on Apple Music, Spotify, and other streaming services.
R. Kelly is serving a 30-year sentence at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago,
He was found guilty by a federal court in Brooklyn on one count of racketeering and eight counts of violating the Mann Act — the law that bars transporting people across state lines “for any immoral purpose” — in 2021.

The release of ‘I Admit’ by Kelly comes four years after the scandal-plagued musician’s music was initially de-emphasized by Spotify when sex crime claims and rumours that the I Believe I Can Fly singer was allegedly leading a sex cult first appeared in 2018.

R Kelly has denied involvement in the album
R Kelly has reportedly denied any involvement in the making of the album.
R Kelly recorded his statement on Friday, December 9, only hours after the album unexpectedly debuted on all the major streaming services, according to TMZ.
In the statement, he said “Apparently somebody done faked an album called I Admit It, and put it out there as if it was me putting it out,” R. Kelly said in the prison recording.
“And I’m not putting out any albums, I haven’t put out any albums, I’m not even interested in putting out any albums, ’cause my only focus is the appeal and everything else.”
“But it seems like somebody wants this album out to mess with the appeal because why would I put an album out called I Admit It? Okay, so that right there make no damn sense.”
