With many South Africans keen on the Formula 1 2023 race coming to South Africa, Prince Kaybee feels it would be a waste of money.
Naturally, fans of the sport have lashed out at the DJ, telling him to stick to DJ’ing and to “stay in his lane.”
“I don’t see the need to bring F1 in SA at Kyalami, when there’s so much unemployment and education is still not free. To host an F1 race close to R600 million or more. Why spend so much money over a weekend that’s gonna benefit a minority?”

However, his opinion was met with major resistance from fans of the sport who were enthusiastic after negotiations for the race coming to Kyalami took place earlier in the week.
F1 CEO, Stefano Domenicali met with Kyalami Circuit owner, Toby Venter on Monday, fuelling the possibility the country is on track to host the race next year.
Kaybee, who is a keen e-sport motor racing gamer, compared SA’s interest in hosting the race here to Malaysia.
“The Malaysian government spent $67 million to host an F1 race with little return, they had to cancel it.”

While Prince Kaybee’s point is somewhat correct, the race wasn’t cancelled due to cost implications.
The 2009 Grand Prix was called off due to heavy rains.
SA Grand Prix Association said locals will not be excluded from the race should it come to the country.
With international fans following the race wherever it’s held, an exclusive allocation will be set aside for South African residents.
Kyalami Circuit is looking to increase seating capacity to 90, 000.
Kaybee’s argument that the race will only be accessible to people in a minority who could afford the pricy tickets did not go down well.
