Prince Kaybee responds to Maphorisa’s “porn star” comment

Prince Kaybee didn’t take DJ Maphorisa’s “porn star” comment about him laying down, and found the latter’s rants about him as an artist unnescessary and uncalled for.

DJ Maphorisa launched an offensive against Prince Kaybee on Tuesday, 30 January by bringing up some of his business moves and his scandalous past.

Kaybee’s nude pictures were leaked allegedly by DJ Hazel Mahazard in 2021, leaving him a little red in the face.

While Kaybee has already left the incident in his past, others are not so quick to forgive and forget it seems, and Maphorisa appears to be one of them.

What started as a disagreement about the South African music industry, went south when Maphorisa took personal jabs at Prince Kaybee.

Responding to Maphorisa’s “porn star” comments, Kaybee said he could just as easily take a swipe at Maphorisa for having an assault case against him, but that he will not go to those extremes.

Last year DJ Maphorisa’s girlfriend at the time Thuli Phongolo opened a case of assault against him after a heated argument between went too far.

Thuli told police that Maphorisa “became aggressive” and started to punch her with his fists on her chest.”

Prince Kaybee addressed Maphorisa in a series of posts on X, saying there’s a lack of basic human principle in the industry.

“I did see the ‘porn star’ narrative coming, an unfortunate time in my life where someone showed the world my private parts, but I can also use the allegations of you hitting a woman but thats not the argument.

There’s lack of moral commitment to artists generally from a basic human principle to parallel their artistic capabilities and talent to a computer, lights and Nandos and its not building the economy of the artist.

I disagree with what you stand for and that’s that.

Growing up I’ve changed my beliefs, I now believe in working together on creative projects is about the IP sharing.

So, someone must write a song, produce a beat, and craft it and you own everything because you bought Nandos and lights?

Furthermore, they say its the law, there is no such law, talent from a sole business (artist) can’t be regulated under any governing body because it’s non-existent.

Ya’ll follow contracts that were made in the 1800s to better suit record labels and no wonder record labels have become unpopular [sic].

Lastly, you want to quantify a personal piece of art from a talented individual to facilities, how far do you really wanna take it?

What if the artist has had the song started before he got to the studio? What if the artist doesn’t eat? What if the artist comes with plugins and chords already formulate? How far do you want to take it?
