Pretty Yende to perform at King Charles III’s coronation.
Pretty Yende, a South African opera singer, will join a distinguished group of musicians onstage at King Charles III’s coronation in May.
Yende resides and performs in Europe, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Cape Town and finished her graduate work at the famed La Scala Academy.
Details for Charles and Camilla’s wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6, have been released by Buckingham Palace.
In a statement to the media, they said: “A range of musical styles and performers blend tradition, heritage and ceremony with new musical voices of today, reflecting the King’s life-long love and support of music and the arts.”

Yende expressed her excitement when she made the announcement on Twitter.
“It’s hard to put into words how honored and blessed I feel to receive an invitation to perform at The Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6th of May 2023,” wrote Yende.
