Congratulations to singer/songwriter Dr. Malinga and his wife on the birth of their 6th child, Talent Malinga!
Dr. Malinga proudly shared photos of their newest addition on social media, announcing that Talent was born on July 27, 2024.
In 2022, there were reports that SARS (South African Revenue Services) had repossessed some of Dr. Malinga’s belongings to auction off due to unpaid taxes.
Speaking to Podcast And Chill with MacG, Dr Malinga confirmed the reports.
“SARS came to my house that I bought cash. They took my furniture and car.”
The Via Orlando singer revealed that he has struggled to keep up with payments because he hasn’t been getting bookings.
“I remember SARS called me many years ago to tell time that I owe them R2.1 million (sighs).”
Malinga says he paid R1 million and kept on paying what was remaining until Covid hit. “You know in music, you depend on being booked and there was Covid.”
The musician noted that he reached out to various people for help including former Minister Nathi Mthethwa to no success.
“I don’t have money, I’m not being booked, I’m not trending. I can’t force people to book me.”
