Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi was roasted on Twitter on Thursday, 13 July, after sharing his dissatisfaction with the meal he ordered, making a comparison of what his expectation was versus the reality when his meal arrived.
Lesufi who ordered a plate of chicken wings and chips from an undisclosed Wimpy, showed the disappointing difference in what the picture on the menu looked like and what he was brought.
Instead of saucy, juicy chicken wings, the Premier received a plate of scrawny and overcooked, dry wings that looked old.
Lesufi must have thought other South Africans could relate to the caption, “what I ordered vs what I got”, and would share similar posts, instead, it turned into a rant about the expectations people had with regard to the ANC versus what the ANC delivers.
From clean water to healthcare and electricity, Lesufi was roasted in the comments section, despite him sharing that he still tipped handsomely for the poorly prepared meal.
“You’re lucky you got something, because we’re so used to getting nothing from the ANC.”
“It’s the same thing as, what we voted for vs what we got.”
“Now you know how we feel about your party.”
“Oh look, a politician is disappointed he didn’t get exactly what he wanted. Well same!”
“Why is he surprised? Isn’t this exactly what you do to people who vote ANC? Promise one thing, deliver nothing.”
While Lesufi tried clapping back to a few of the comments, he finally accepted that he walked right into that one, and stopped engaging in the discussion altogether.
