Following the announcement that Khanyi Mbau will be roasted on Comedy Central in July, poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai has revealed that participating in Comedy Central’s Roast of Somizi in 2018 left her “traumatised for life.”
Ntsiki says since that experience she doesn’t trust “contracts to work with white people” anymore.
She adds, “I am scarred and traumatised for life hey….. I just think wooooooo you just wanna humiliate me akere?”
Consoling Ntsiki, one of her fans tweeted: “Honestly on the roast I feel you walked away victorious coz most of our black celebrities lost it at the sight of you and ended up giving you more traction.”

Speaking to Tshisa Live about her forthcoming roast, Khanyi Mbau said it “feels amazing” to be the first black woman to feature on Comedy Central’s roast.
“To be the first black female to be roasted on Comedy Central in the world feels amazing. Do you know how many balls we’ve had on this platform? It was getting rather sweaty. Let’s put some tits on this and make it bounce. Right?”
“I would love to have cupcake. Yes, the president. Cyril on my roast. I think that’s one person that would make such an entertaining roast, with the rhinos and the McDonald’s and the trips. And he’s just so interesting. I’m loving it.”
