Actress Nompilo Maphumulo joins SABC 1 drama Generations: The Legacy.
The news comes after a series of posts on Instagram where she teased that a new character will be coming to our television screens soon.
Generations: The Legacy confirmed to TshisaLive that Maphumo will make her onscreen debut on the drama on June 13, 2023.
“Generations: The Legacy wishes to extend a warm welcome to Nompilo Maphumulo. She will play the role of Buhle, an old connection of Mrekza’s who comes bearing a life-changing reminder of his past. She will be on air from June 13 and viewers can look forward to Nompilo’s easy charm warming our screens at the usual 8 pm slot.”
This is just a month after the actress bowed out of Uzalo following an 8-and-a-half-year stint in the soapie playing the infamous Nosipho.
Announcing her exit from the show, Nompilo said that the journey was nothing short of amazing.
“It’s been quite a journey, a beautiful one. Trended a number of times, cried, and laughed but most of all I enjoyed and embraced playing Nosipho. We are all going to miss her especially me but rest assured Nompilo is not done yet. In fact, it’s only the beginning.”
