It appears South Africa is not the only nation with a serious corruption problem.
A video of a Nigerian official, Daniel Pondei, who seemingly faints after being questioned about missing public funds has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Pondei is in parliament and is being grilled about the misuse of funds, and before the speaker could finish speaking he collapses.
Pondei was dismissed after the fainting episode and escorted by an ambulance and the police.
Although the video is trending now, the viral incident actually occurred in 2020 in Nigeria.
Those close to the scene say that Pondei could have suffered a semi-stroke.
People on social media have made fun of the incident as they believe the official “faked fainting” as he couldn’t face the consequences of his actions.
