“Mr Ibu” John Okafor’s leg amputated to save his life
In an effort to preserve his life, Nollywood comedian and actor John Okafor, often known as Mr. Ibu, lost one leg, according to his family.
The actor announced he had undergone seven successful surgeries, including the amputation of one leg, in an attempt to prolong his life in a statement posted on his Instagram page on Monday.
“Good afternoon, Nigerians. We want to appreciate everyone who has come through for our dad; saying we are grateful is an understatement, and only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you’ve rendered.
“As of 1 pm, noon today, Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries, but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery, one of his legs had to be amputated.” read the statement,

After spending weeks in the hospital, Mr. Ibu made a video request for financial support and prayers in October.
He disclosed that in order to stop his sickness from spreading, his physicians had advised amputation. His daughter and wife also responded to the need for assistance.
Having starred in more than 200 Nollywood productions, such as “Mr. Ibu,” “Mr. Ibu and His Son,” and “Mr. Ibu in London,” he is a well-known humorous figure in the Nigerian film industry.
On October 17, the actor celebrated his 62nd birthday in the medical facility.
