Mome Mahlangu has opened up about the importance of forgiveness after reuniting with her husband of 11-years, comedian Tol Ass Mo.
Taking to her Instagram, Mom said forgiveness is when you stop visiting the past to relive the pain that someone caused you.
She also said when women are unhealed they look at separation as rejection, without understanding what their partner is dealing with.
The mother of 3 spoke about the trauma that her husband was going through prior to their separation, expressing how grateful she is that her husband found his way back home and worked on his healing.
“Forgiveness comes when you stop visiting the past especially when you know what you had to go through, when you stop allowing yourself to visit the past. Each time you replay what happened in your mind, you’re giving it life, instead of allowing the pain to ease.
The unhealed little girl in you will see separation as rejection, the healed woman in you will accept separation after 14-years, not as rejection but understanding that trauma is real and it’s not for you to decide how they should heal it but pray for them to find real healing, because healing is messy.
Tol Ass Mo, I’m grateful to see you back to yourself and being able to feel your feelings daily, and finally reaching forgiveness within you.
The movie had to happen for the world to learn the reality of trauma and mental health through you. I sat back and prayed for you to SNAP out of pain and save your life.
I knew you will be home one day, cause nothing really happened between us. I felt your pain during the breakdown, me watching the 3 musketeers playing hero for their own benefits was an unnecessary rollercoaster but I knew God will not leave you nor forsake you.
Remember when you heal yourself, you heal your partners, you heal your children, you heal your family, not just you. Let go of pain and understand what happened, happened.”
In July, Tol Ass Mo alarmed South Africans when he shared he was divorcing Mome after 11-years of marriage.
Tol Ass Mo said the trauma he was subjected to from the fabricated rape allegations took a toll on him, and he vowed to never date black women again.
Although he was acquitted of rape charges last year, Tol Ass Mo shared that the entire ordeal had taken a toll on his marriage, to the point where he could no longer make love to Mome.
On Friday, 01 December, Mongezi Mahlangu better known by his stage name, “Tol Ass Mo”, shared how he was blessed to have his wife back in his life.
