The memorial service and funeral details for highly acclaimed South African actress, Connie Chiume have been confirmed.
Mam’ Connie will be celebrated at a memorial service on Tuesday, 13 August and laid to rest on Thursday, 15 August.
Both services will be held at the Oasis of Life Family Church in Davyeton.
The 72-year-old passed away on Tuesday, 06 August at Garden City Hospital, Johannesburg after a period of illness. Her son, Nongelo Chiume shared a touching tribute to Mam’ Connie, promising to keep her legacy alive.

Connie Chiume is well-known for her roles in popular South African TV shows like Zone 14, Rhythm City, and Gomora, as well as her appearances in international films like Black Panther and Black Is King.
Aside from her acting career, Chiume was also a strong advocate for fair treatment of actors in South Africa and believed in sharing her knowledge with the next generation.
In 2023, she announced plans to host acting workshops across the country, with seminars scheduled in the Eastern Cape, North West, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Free State.
