Makhadzi has released a statement to clear the air after angry fans set the stage on fire and accused her of sending a doppelgänger to perform in her place at the Kwas London Annual Fun Games and Music Festival in Makwassie on Boxing Day.
According to the statement, the event promoter known as Ismael failed to pay the 50% deposit of the R180 000 performance fee 14 days before the event as stipulated in the contract he was given on 19 November 2024.
“Following this agreement, A deposit has been received, along with an extra R3,000 for a promotional video. Unfortunately, the promoter did not reach the agreement as per contract by failing to pay the balance within 14 days agreed,” the statement reads.

This comes after Makhadzi’s fans were angered when she failed to appear on stage at Makwassie Stadium that they vandalised the stage and damaged sound and stage equipment estimated to be worth R3 million.
Fans were reportedly sent over the edge after waiting for hours for the star whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona only to get a performance from her “look-alike” who has since been identified as Venda artist Mukosi.

Some of Makhadzi’s fans are not convinced and have taken to X to react:

don't take this the wrong way, you need to find a strong management team not friends whom you rely to be loyal to you because by the looks of things your management has been letting you done this past weeks, a small but high impact negative perception is being built arnd you.

You receive all your money, but you didn't perform simply because the payment was made after 14 days. Remember, arrogance can lead to difficulties; that's why you sometimes encounter setbacks. It's easy to forget where you came from.
