Following the successful launch of his Sompire Kids’ range, media personality Somizi Mhlongo extends his heartfelt appreciation to his late parents for supporting his pursuit of his dreams.
“When I said I wanted to be an artist, you never said, Finish your matriculation as plan B. Because you have always believed in my Plan A, and so have I. And plan A has had its ups and downs.”
Acknowledging moments in his journey when he contemplated having a Plan B, Somizi reflects on his decision to persevere.
“Plan A is now paying off. I knew that one day I’d be the CEO of something. I thought that would have happened 20 years ago. But I’m glad it’s only happening now because I’m ready. Here’s to my legacy,” he said in part.

Somizi firmly believes in the profound significance of positive affirmations for children. In his own words, “Positive affirmations are the building blocks of a child’s inner strength and well-being.” They are words of encouragement that help children develop a positive self-image, boost their self-esteem, and cultivate a growth mindset.
“It took me two years to create this brand, and finally seeing it come to life is a big accomplishment for me. I really believe that kids should wear clothes that not only look good but also prioritize their comfort and offer flexibility. My love for fashion inspired me to start making clothes for kids. It has also allowed me to tap into my inner child and have fun creating this clothing line that everyone can now buy,” Somizi said.
