It appears that South African musician Makhadzi is single, as she recently opened up about the heartache of spending this past Valentine’s Day alone.
The 28-year-old took to social media to share her feelings, writing, “Today I felt the real pain of being single.”
She expressed how difficult it was to witness others celebrating love, noting that it was “painful to watch other ladies receiving flowers.”
Makhadzi revealed that she spent the day by herself at a restaurant, watching couples showing affection towards one another. “I’m sitting at the restaurant alone, only seeing people kissing each other. I want to cry, Shem,” the hitmaker shared.
This revelation comes after reports in 2024 claimed that Makhadzi was engaged to her businessman boyfriend.
Inside Makhadzi’s on and off relationship with Master KG
In early 2023, Master KG publicly announced that he and Makhadzi had split, stating that while they were no longer together romantically, they would continue collaborating professionally for the sake of their fans.
The Limpopo-born celebrity couple had first gone their separate ways in 2020, citing the need to focus on their individual careers. At the time, Master KG explained, “Makhadzi and I parted ways months ago to focus on our careers. We are still young and need to achieve big things. [We] hope everyone understands and respects that. I will no longer address anything related to this. Thanks.”
In 2021, during a Facebook Live session, Makhadzi addressed the topic again, hoping to clarify to her fans that she and Master KG would not be rekindling their relationship.
As soon as she went live, one of the first questions posed was about what had truly happened between her and Master KG.
Makhadzi responded candidly, saying, “What happened between Master KG and me is that we decided to be like brother and sister. We are OK. We are cool.”
