Fans of The River on 1Magic expressed their disappointment and sadness upon discovering that a house identical to the iconic Dikana mansion from the show, owned by Sindi Dlathu’s character Lindiwe Dikana-Dlamini, is up for sale.
The luxury home, boasting seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, four garages, and two cottages, has mesmerized South Africans over the past few years. The decision to sell the house might be influenced by the fact that the show is coming to an end after its 6th season.
In February of this year, Mnet revealed that The River 1 Magic’s new season, season 6, would be its final one.
Shirley Adonisi, the Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, expressed gratitude to the cast and crew of The River for their hard work and dedication over the past five years.
“At M-Net Local Entertainment Channels we would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the cast and crew of The River for a memorable five years. Their hard work, dedication, and brilliance have led to the telenovela’s success. The final season is going to be the show’s most epic one yet. The drama will be bigger and better, setting the stage for the ultimate finale,” said Adonisi.
The telenovela has received widespread acclaim and recognition, winning an impressive 26 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) out of 31 nominations.
Fans took to social media to express their reactions after learning that the Dikana mansion was listed for sale.
