Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng, affectionately known as Dr. T will now join American University, Georgetown University as their new Medical Law Lecturer.
Known for her expertise in universal health and access, Dr. T has dedicated her time to advocating for HIV care, youth friendly services and family planing.
In addition to this Dr. T had also focused on gender equality, policy, maternal and neonatal health, menstrual health and HIV management and care.
Apart from her many contributions to health care in South Africa and abroad, Dr. T also serves as a UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health.
The doctor shares her expertise and activism on various platforms, including TV, radio, print and social media and also runs a women’s health clinic in Johannesburg.
Dr. T made this announcement Monday afternoon on her Twitter account.

In the same thread Dr. T shared how grateful and “privileged” she was to embark on this new journey with her new students.
