Cringe! The sex scenes on the Showmax drama series Adulting have left many on social media with the ick.
After snippets of a sex scene with actress Thembi Seete being folded up, and “froggy humped” by her male conquest went viral, fans shared mixed reactions to what they’d seen.
Seete, who is 46 years old was ridiculed for taking the role of Portia, a sex-deprived housewife who satiates her cravings with a character played by Luthando “BU” Mthembu.
Instead of achieving a sex session that sets pulses racing, the absurd squatting and jumping scene with Portia and Luthando’s character, Vuyani just left viewers with the “ick”.
“I’ve lost respect for Thembi Seete.”
“I can’t unsee that Thembi Seete sex scene. How much did they pay her to take this role and do that scene?”
“Thembi Seete shouldn’t have done those sex scenes. Lol y’all crying like those sex scenes were even good. They were trash. She really could’ve done better, waaaay better than that. ‘Cause who does that jumping frog missionary nonsense?”
This isn’t the first time Thembi Seete took on sex scenes, and she’s not the first South African actress to get into some on-screen action, as Khanyi Mbau, Pearl Thusi, and Kgomotso Christopher have all done adulterated sex scenes in acting roles.
Those worried about whether the sex scenes are real can rest assured that the scenes are choreographed by intimacy coaches.
The actors also create an illusion of nudity but have their private parts covered whilst filming.
