Bonang Matheba is set to launch her own talent agency, saying there’s a void in the industry that needs to be filled.
The media personality shared her ambitions in an interview with Thando Thabethe, revealing that getting into talent management is a priority of hers because there’s no governance in the entertainment industry.
Bonang, who has not held back on her criticism of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, is looking to change the game in the entertainment industry in South Africa.
The 36-year old, who last year called for previous Sports, Arts and Culture Minister, Nathi Mthethwa’s resignation says there’s so much talent in the country, which is not being properly cultivated.
“We have so many superstars, but why aren’t they where they need to be?
We don’t know how to cultivate them, provide for them, and move them to where they need to be.
It’s like a power production agency, part talent hub because South Africans are great and we are fantastic, but we have not mastered talent management, and there’s no governance in our entertainment industry.”
Bonang, as quoted from her interview with Thando Thabethe on 947’s Her Story Unplugged
Bonang, who parted ways with her former management agency, Celebrity Services Africa (CSA), is hoping with her experience in the industry, she can guide new talent as they hone their talent.
The Queen B, as she is affectionately called by South Africans, did not mention when her talent agency will be launching.
