Big Zulu has taken to social media to wish his late Hip Hop mates, AKA and Riky Rick a ‘Happy Father’s Day.’
AKA has a daughter, Kairo with DJ Zinhle and Riky Rick has a son, Maik with Bianca Naidoo.
“Happy Father’s Day, my heroes. I would like to take this opportunity to say Happy Father’s Day to all fathers who are fathers to all children. I wish you a good day,” wrote Big Zulu.
Riky Rick died by suicide on February 23 in 2022 and AKA was shot and killed on February 10 outside WISH Restaurant in Durban.
Speaking about her son’s loss in an interview with DJ Sbu on his podcast, Louisa Zondo said that she “still goes through”a lot to this day.”
“There is something that happens to the mother. As mothers, we carry with us this beautiful tag of being the caregivers and nurturers of the children that come to this earth through our bodies, or the children we commit to being mothers to. We shape their lives through the way we go through life,” she told DJ Sbu.
“I go through a lot. There is a huge sense of guilt and sadness about not having been able to hold my child so that the end could have been different. That’s a reality, and yet when we allow ourselves to walk with that, to be held by others in that place where that sense of deep guilt and not being able to do what a mother needs to be done.”
