Late rapper Riky Rick’s partner Bianca Naidoo recently sat down for an interview with SABC news.
During the sitdown, Bianca revealed that “some days have been easier than others.”
Her support structure and children have given her strength.
She tells the news channel that, from day one, she has been open to their kids about what happened to their father.
“I listen a lot. They are comfortable expressing themselves and they both process it in their own ways. They know that if they have questions, they can come and ask and talk about it. So it’s just a matter of me being honest.”
Bianca says Father’s Day and Riky’s birthday have been the most difficult since his passing.
Speaking about the late rapper’s battle with depression, Bianca says he was hesitant to get professional help. “He thought he’d be able to deal with it on his own.”
“I can’t speak for him but I know he would have a lot of moments where he would just speak to Khumi, mom, the boys, and myself. I guess those were his ways of coping.”
The mother of two says their last conversation lasted for hours.
“We had the most beautiful conversation about everything, just life, us, the kids, and the way he was feeling.
“That conversation gave me a lot of peace because any questions or doubts were spoken about in that conversation.”
She adds that she also spoke to Riky in the early hours of the morning before his passing.
“His last words in that conversation were – I’m on my way home and love you. When I woke up two hours later and figured that he wasn’t back home- I didn’t get concerned right at that moment because sometimes he would stay on late in the studio.
“But when I couldn’t get a hold of him after dropping the kids, I had to go check up on him.”
