Just two months since her husband passed, Babes Wodumo is reportedly drowning in debt.
Mampintsha died after suffering a second stroke in hospital in December, leaving his widow and infant son with financial trouble.
As reported by Zimoja, the Gqom artist has reportedly not seen most of her royalties or payments which Mampintsha was handling.
Mampintsha was managing his wife, his business and their finances, and according to the publication all Wodumo’s payments went directly into his personal account.
A close friend of Wodumo shared that Babes has fallen on hard times and that she needed the support of her parents after her husband passed.
“He has left her in a lot of debt. Luckily they own the house, but the debt is accumulating. To cut costs her family have move into her matrimonial home.
They left their home in eLamont and moved in with her and Sponge (Babes and Mampintsha’s child). She needed the support from her parents to be able to deal with Mandla’s death.
But, she also needed to cut costs. Phela, she is the one supporting her parents and is the breadwinner at home. It made financial sense for them to move in with her.”
Apart from being a member of Big Nuz, Mampintsha was also involved in a number of lucrative businesses, which Babes is said to have taken over.
The Gqom star’s sister, Nondumiso Simelane, laughed off her sister’s financial troubles.
“Who doesn’t have debt bandla? Babes will be fine. She will share her story when she is ready.”
