It’s been a tough few months for Gqom star Babes Wodumo who has lost a third family member since her husband’s passing in December.
Wodumo who also lost her mother-in-law a few week’s after Mampintsha’s death is now mourning the loss of her uncle.
According to Babes Wodumo’s sister, their uncle had just undergone a successful heart surgery and was reportedly doing well.
Unfortunately, Wodumo’s uncle passed away a few days after his surgery.
“uMalume was fine yazi. He passed away at home in Pinetown. We thought after the heart surgery he was going to be okay.”
Mduduzi Masikane is Wodumo’s mother’s brother and the family say her mother is not taking the news well.
News of Wodumo’s uncle passing was confirmed by her sister, Nondumiso Simelane.
“What have we done? uMa is not okay at all. They were very close, and she is not taking the news well. Our dad is trying to be supportive, but losing a sibling is not easy, no matter what age they are.
It’s almost like a dark cloud is hanging over our family.”
Simelane said it’s not been easy for her sister to live in the public eye and grieve either.
Babes Wodumo has raised concern over how she chooses to mourn her late husband, former Big Nuz member, Mampintsha.
Mampintsha died at the age of 40, on 24 December after suffering a second stroke in hospital.
His mother, Zamanguni Gumede died a few weeks later on 16 January after a short illness.
