Renowned South African actress Connie Chiume recently celebrated turning 72 years old.
She was showered with a stunning bouquet of red roses, and her daughter Nothando wrote a heartfelt birthday message for her beloved mom’s special day.
In the message, Nothando expressed her admiration for her mother, calling her a hero and thanking God for bringing them together.
“Happy Birthday my dearest mother; you are my hero. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. God hand-picked you for me, what a perfect match made in heaven. We love you @conniechiume,” she gushed.
Connie Chiume is well-known for her roles in popular South African TV shows like Zone 14, Rhythm City, and Gomora, as well as her appearances in international films like Black Panther and Black Is King.
Aside from her acting career, Chiume is also a strong advocate for fair treatment of actors in South Africa and believes in sharing her knowledge with the next generation. In 2023, she announced plans to host acting workshops across the country, with seminars scheduled to take place in the Eastern Cape, North West, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Free State.
“The Business Of Acting Workshops are back and could be visiting your province this year!!! The Workshop is aimed at empowering budding Arts Practitioners and supplying them with tools to unleash their best,” said Chiume.
“The post also indicated that the workshop is absolutely free, the was also information about how artist can take part in the workshop.”
