50 Cent‘s “Many Men” streams are up 250% since Trump’s assassination attempt.
The 2003 hit song “Many Men (Wish Death)” by 50 Cent has become increasingly popular following former US President Donald Trump’s assassination attempt.
The song’s recent surge in popularity was sparked by an event that happened on July 13 at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a 20-year-old man opened fire on the polarizing politician. It resulted in Trump being wounded in the right ear and left with blood pouring down his face, while two others were injured and one attendee was killed.
Following the massacre, trolls and Trump supporters co-opted the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ cut, which resulted in a staggering 250 percent boost in streaming activity, according to Billboard.
50 Cent has recently performed the song in Boston, with a photo of Donald Trump as his album cover.
What a fuckin legend. 50 Cent does Many Men last night in Boston. Look at the screen behind him. Trump needs to walk out to this at the convention. Dana introduces him. 50 hits.
