Stephanie Sandows and her ex-husband, Hungani Ndlovu, recently confirmed in a joint statement that they have filed for divorce, following weeks of speculation and rumours circulating on social media.
On Wednesday morning, Stephanie took to social media to address the public, calling out individuals who have been unfairly blaming her friend, whom she chose not to name, for the couple’s separation.
“There are some things that warrant a response. This is by no means an emotionally charged response,” Stephanie explained via Instagram. “If I was going to respond from a place of how I feel, it would look very different.”
The former Scandal! actress went on to share that, in recent weeks, she has faced a level of bullying she has never experienced before.
“I’ve been dragged. I’ve been questioned as a wife and as a mother,” she said.
While she admitted that the criticism directed at her has felt harsh, she stated she could live with it. What she cannot accept, however, is her friend being dragged into the situation.
“It’s one thing for you to drag me, but it’s entirely different for you to pull someone into this who has nothing to do with Hungani and I’s decision. It’s so unfair that she has to deal with something she has no involvement in. You are attacking her as a person and as a mother.”
Stephanie continued: “I don’t think it’s fair for her to stay off social media just because of a bunch of lies that have been shared. It’s unfair, and it is hurtful. Please just stop.”
Her ex-husband, Hungani, responded in support of her message, simply commenting: “Well said.”
