Popular YouTuber and beauty content creator Kay Yarms recently gave her followers an intimate look into a very special milestone — her coming-of-age ceremony.
Shared via heartfelt Instagram videos, the event was a celebration of culture, gratitude, and womanhood. Fans flooded her comments with admiration, with many saying she looked like “a beautiful bride.”
Umemulo is a sacred Zulu tradition that marks a young woman’s transition into adulthood. While commonly done at age 21, it is not strictly age-based and is often seen as a way for parents to honour their daughter for her grace, discipline, and respectful conduct — known as ukuziphatha kahle.
Kay, whose real name is Khethokuhle Phumelele Ngonyama, expressed deep gratitude to her mother in an emotional caption:
